Childcare Advocate – London – Competitive Hourly Rate (DOE)
Position: Childcare Advocate
Organisation: London based Local Authority
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Court attendance required (2-3 days a week)
Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)
Venn Group’s public sector legal team are working with a London based Local Authority in their search for a Childcare Advocate.
The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who has an excellent working knowledge of the key public child protection legislation, statutory and non-statutory guidance and relevant case law. As well as having experience of conducting advocacy in all tiers of the Family Court.
Duties shall include:
- To conduct Advocacy in the Family Court to the children’s social care teams, which will cover all aspects of child protection law
- To advise the local authority on evidential and legal matters
- To identify strengths and weaknesses in a case and advise the clients accordingly
- General drafting including case summaries, skeleton arguments, position statements, threshold and draft case management orders as required
- Build strong and positive relationships with clients
