Location: South-East England, hybrid working
Salary: £50,000 to £55,500 p.a.
Working Arrangement: Full-time, 37 hours per week

About the Role:
A prestigious UK educational institution is seeking an In-House Commercial Lawyer to join its legal team. This pivotal role offers the chance to provide expert legal guidance on a wide array of complex issues, supporting both the strategic and operational needs of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Lead the creation, negotiation, and finalisation of various contracts, ensuring all agreements comply with the necessary legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Regulatory Guidance: Offer legal counsel on compliance matters, with a focus on key legislation affecting the organisation, including data protection, equality, and charity regulations.
- Strategic Legal Partnering: Collaborate with internal teams on international partnerships, corporate initiatives, and academic agreements, delivering innovative legal solutions that align with business objectives.
- Corporate Advice: Provide strategic advice on corporate governance, helping to steer the organisation through complex legal landscapes and contribute to high-level decision-making.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver targeted legal training sessions to enhance staff understanding of relevant legal processes and compliance requirements.
- Project Oversight: Manage and drive key legal projects to successful completion, often working under tight deadlines on high-stakes initiatives.
About You:
You are a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in-house, ideally within a large organisation or public sector environment. You should have:
- Expertise in Contract Law: Significant experience in handling complex contracts independently.
- Strong Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of compliance issues relevant to large institutions, particularly within regulated or charitable sectors.
- Creative Problem-Solving: A proven ability to craft innovative legal solutions that support business development while ensuring compliance.
- Clear Communication: Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering results under pressure.
