Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – £55 per hour Umbrella – 3+ Months – Remote Working - Part Time

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a respected public sector organisation seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and commercially minded lawyer to handle a varied and high-profile caseload, providing expert advice and support on complex commercial and procurement matters.

Role Overview:

• Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer

• Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella

• Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential for extension

• Location: Remote working

• Hours: Part Time, 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of contracts including:

  • Grant agreements, service agreements, and JCT construction contracts

• Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on contractual risks, compliance, and procurement regulations

• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to improve contract management efficiency and ensure legal robustness

• Support the wider commercial and governance functions with expert legal input on complex projects

About You:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx)

• Proven experience in Commercial Contracts and Procurement Law, ideally within the public sector

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills

• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams
