Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – South East England – Competitive Salary – Hybrid Working
Job Title: Locum Commercial Property Lawyer
Location: South East England – Hybrid Working of 2 days a week office presence but will consider fully remote working for the right candidate
Salary: Negotiable hourly rate dependent upon experience
Venn Group’s specialist legal recruitment team are in collaboration with a Local Authority based in the South East of England in their search for a Locum Commercial Property Lawyer. This role offers a chance to take ownership of a personal caseload of Commercial Property matters, providing legal support and contributing to the broader Contracts and Property team’s success.
The role shall be for 3 months with the option to extend further if there is a requirement to do so. The role shall be on a hybrid working basis and shall require 2 days a week in the office but will consider fully remote working for the right candidate
The ideal candidate will be either Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with a strong track record of working within Local Government within the Commercial Property legal departments but should have some flexibility to advice across all commercial and corporate areas of law
Duties shall include:
- Caseload Management: Oversee a personal caseload of property matters, handling all legal functions, including drafting, advising, negotiating, and representation
- Team Collaboration: Participate effectively in the wider Contracts and Property team’s workload, engaging in various projects as directed by senior members
- Property-Related Advice: Provide expert property-related advice and assistance within the Contracts and Property team, supporting development, regeneration activities, and managing transactions
- Document Drafting: Draft various legal documents, ranging in complexity, and collaborate with the Senior Solicitor, including negotiation and instructing Counsel when needed
- Legal Support: Offer legal advice and support to the Executive, Members, and Officers on legal and administrative aspects of their duties and responsibilities
- Meetings and Collaboration: Attend regular meetings to discuss progress, ideas, and engage with clients as required
This role comes with a competitive hourly rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience. Applications from people with relevant Local Government experienced are welcomed even if the job specification does not align entirely with your experience
