Temporary Configuration Analyst

A position has arisen for a Configuration Analyst within a leading Telecoms provider.
Duties will include:

Advise on Configuration Management principles and best practices across the Infrastructure, including but not limited to corporate applications and corporate network, mobile, consumer and core network infrastructure(s)

Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and updating of the Configuration Management Systems

Ensure that through the project life cycle, new Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships to one another are identified through project engagement and controlled throughout their lifecycle

Work with the primarily with Operational Readiness, but also with Business Operations, Fault & Incident Management Teams, Change Management and OSS Solution design to ensure

Configuration Management requirements are both identified and built into solutions for new projects

Work with other parts of Operations and T&I to ensure that synergies are identified and joint ways of working are agreed particularly in regard to projects and external standards and governance

Work closely with the design and architecture teams to influence the overall strategy for forth

Work collaboratively with Service Transition and the PMO to gain early visibility of forthcoming releases and projects and understands the impact to Configuration Management resource
Skills Required:
-
IT Service Management Experience
-
Experience of dealing with multi-priority deliverables with delivery workloads being maintained.

Good understanding and use of BMC Remedy 8.0 and Atrium CMDB
-
Understanding of the network provisioning process and Layer 1, 2 and 3 products
-
Experience of maintaining and managing Configuration Management tools and processes

Successful track record of influencing senior stakeholders, process re-engineering and supporting ITIL processes in demanding high availability organisations

Strong understanding of the application of SOX controls in the technology environment

Excellent understanding of international standards, particularly ISO20000, ISO270001 including CAS(T) and SOX and how to apply them in a Configuration Management environment
