Consultant in Public Health
We are currently working with an established Local Authority in the Midlands who require the assistance of a Consultant in Public Health. They are flexible with qualification status and they are happy to consider anyone who has experience working at PH Consultant level but not necessarily with the relevant registration. They are also open to candidates who are interested in doing a mix of Covid work and business as usual Public Health work, such as leadership on the domestic abuse agenda.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Leading elements of ‘business as usual’ Public Health agendas, such as domestic abuse
- Leading elements of Covid-19 response, working as a team alongside other Consultants in Public Health and the Covid-19 Response Service Contract
Key Requirements:
- Experience in Local Authority setting (essential)
- Experience of working in partnership with system leaders to influence and facilitate effective decision making (essential)
- Qualified and registered Consultant in Public Health - GMC, GDC or UKPHR specialist register (desirable)
- Covid-19 response experience (desirable)
- Available for a minimum of 3 days per week
- Available immediately or within the next few months

Shortlisting / Interview:
- Video call with Director of Public Health and Consultant in Public Health
- Opportunity for informal conversation for both parties to understand interest and suitability, alongside some formal interview style questions which are required as part of due diligence of recruitment at this senior level
Duration: 6 months initially, with option to extend
Rate: Daily rates negotiable (Inside IR35)
Remote working with the ability to attend the office in person on occasion
