Interim Finance role
Based: London
Length: 3 – 6 months initially

A local authority in London are recruiting for a strong Accountant to join their Financial Management Team, based corporately, for a 3-6-month period.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Financial management team on budget monitoring as they enter the new financial year
- The main functions this support and responsibilities are; HR (Including Pensions/Pension Fund) and Audit, Risk, Insurance, Fraud, Strategic Commissioning
- Provide effective Business Partnering support to the Director
- Produce of the Monthly Resources and Customer Delivery Finance Dashboard and support manual Payments as required to include Treasury
- Reconciliations and project actions where required
Skills and experience required:
- Must be a part qualified accountant (AAT as a minimum) with recent local authority experience
- Able to the hit the ground running, demonstrating agility in being able to switch between providing business partnering support to two key Directors (HR and Audit Ricks, Fraud, Insurance and Strategic Procurement) and the Conference and events Head of Service and more routine management accounting responsibilities
- Excellent analytical, communication skills are essential as is the ability to provide support to high profile budget holders
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to use and interrogate the Councils Financial Information system (SAP)
- Resilient, able to work at pace and present/communication information effectively to senior budget holders
