Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join their expanding team in the West Midlands. With a focus on protecting the rights of vulnerable individuals, this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those under the protection of the Court.
Role Overview:
As a key member of the Court of Protection department, you will manage a caseload that includes complex matters such as deprivation of liberty cases. You will work alongside the Head of Department, with a team of specialist Solicitors, supported by a team of Paralegals and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Oversee a full caseload of Court of Protection matters, including those involving deprivation of liberty.
- Client Representation: Advocate on behalf of clients in hearings, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across different offices, contributing to the overall success of the department.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications: Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE in Court of Protection work.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing cases involving deprivation of liberty.
- Skills: Strong advocacy, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to handle a busy caseload independently.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment: A genuine passion for working in the Court of Protection field and a dedication to high-quality client service.
- Driving Licence: Essential for attending hearings and client meetings.
