Criminal Defence / Professional Discipline Solicitor
Well respected firm seeks a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join their Police Misconduct Team.
This is a rare opportunity to specialise in a stimulating and rewarding area of law and work alongside highly respected Solicitors in this field. Training and ongoing guidance will be provided making this ideally suited for a Criminal Defence Solicitor who is seeking a change.
The position will see you will acting for the Police Federation to defend police officers on professional discipline allegations. You will deal with a wide variety of cases, ranging from allegations of serious misconduct to criminal offences. The work will include dealing with complex and high profile matters including post incident procedures following deaths or serious injuries.
Once you have undergone your initial training you will not be required to work in the office and will be able to conduct many of your duties remotely. Due to the nature of the role, it will require travel to various police stations and Police Federation Offices across the East Midlands.
In addition to allowing you to develop experience in a niche area of law, this position has plenty of scope for ongoing professional development and career progression. You will benefit from learning from experts in the area and have excellent long term prospects with the firm.
The essential candidate criteria are outlined below:
- Qualified Solicitor (Ideally 5 years + PQE)
- Criminal Defence Experience
- Full driving license and access to own vehicle
- Willing to travel across the East Midlands
The salary on offer will be dependent on experience and promises to be competitive.
