Deputy Financial Accountant

Interim Deputy Financial Accountant  

Based in Southampton, hybrid working

Length: 4-5 months

IR35 status: Inside

This post is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day and monthly processes for fixed asset & lease accounting. Working with the business to identify emerging projects and the associated accounting treatment. Convey technical information to a non-financial audience clearly and concisely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in fixed asset and lease accounting for the Organisation
• Lead on accounting activities such as posting journals, undertaking manual reconciliations
• Co-ordinate the delivery of financial accounting across the Agency, ensuring that processes are effective, a robust financial control environment is maintained, and value for money is obtained
• Ensure that transactional requirements for the Agency's accounts are complete and represent the performance of the Agency through regular reconciliation and management of the Agency's balance sheet accounts

Skills, experience and knowledge required:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the Public Sector  
• AAT Level 4 qualified (or an active studier toward the latter stages), and/or qualified/part qualified CCAB professional qualification
• Balance sheet management
• Strong Excel skills are essential
