Development Planner
£35k - £45k plus bonus
Nationally recognised developer seeks a junior planning lawyer to join their in house team as a Development Planner.
The position will see you working closely alongside the company’s In-House Planning Lawyer and advising upon planning and allied regulatory constraints to development projects. You will work to implement existing planning permissions and to secure new consents for the company’s expanding portfolio of development projects and sites.
Typical duties will include:
Researching Local Planning Authority policies and planning register records
Liaising with Local Planning Authority officers in connection with the accountabilities
Identifying and planning constraints to development projects and advising accordingly
Assisting in negotiating the content of planning obligations and planning conditions
Negotiating related planning obligations where required
Making applications for certificates of lawful established or proposed use
Assisting in making statutory appeals again refusals of planning permission
The position is based out of the firm’s Wellingborough office and would allow two days a week home working.
A salary of £35,000 to £45,000 is on offer dependent on experience. In addition to the basic salary, you would be eligible for the company’s bonus scheme.
This position would be ideally suited to individuals with experience of planning law gained from working in a law firm, local authority or in-house. The essential candidate criteria are outlined below:
Experience of development control procedures, regulation, and decision making
Degree in town planning or law or equivalent vocational experience
Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand technical language
