Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Design Engineer

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile developments in a technically challenging and safety-critical sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver robust EC&I design solutions across a variety of nuclear projects, including power generation, decommissioning, new installations, and defense-related work

Generate comprehensive design documentation, including cable block diagrams, single line diagrams, GA layouts, and wiring schematics using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software

Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs aligned with project milestones and client expectations

Foster effective communication with clients, internal teams, and external suppliers to ensure seamless coordination and information flow

Act as a technical representative in meetings, presenting and explaining design concepts and engineering solutions to stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar EC&I engineering role, supported by a relevant engineering qualification (HNC or higher)

Demonstrated experience in the design and specification of EC&I systems and components, particularly in both conventional and safety-critical applications

Working knowledge of safety and compliance standards, including familiarity with functional safety frameworks such as IEC 61508 or IEC 61513

Proficiency in preparing and reviewing detailed technical documentation, with the ability to interpret and implement design requirements

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks independently

Must be eligible to obtain security clearance for work in regulated sectors
