The Opportunity
We are supporting our client with the appointment of an interim EHC Coordinator to join their SEND service for an initial 3-month assignment. This role will support the statutory assessment and review processes for children and young people with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, ensuring high-quality casework and positive outcomes for families.
The postholder will take responsibility for managing a defined caseload, working within legal timelines, and ensuring a strong focus on preparing for adulthood from the earliest ages.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and secure the highest standards of achievement, progress and inclusion for children and young people with SEND.

Provide clear, timely and accessible information to parents, young people and schools to support effective engagement and decision making.

Manage and process statutory casework in line with legal, statutory and internal timeframes.

Work on one of the following designated casework areas:

Pre-14 Reviews: Monitor and update EHC Plans for children under 14, attend annual reviews, action amendments, progress reassessments and placement changes.

Post-14 Reviews: Oversee EHC Plans for young people aged 14+, ensuring strong preparation for adulthood and proactive management of ceasing EHC Plans where appropriate.

Work collaboratively with education, health and social care partners to ensure integrated working and strong case management.

Participate in resource and decision-making processes, including recommendations on assessments and issuing plans.
Skills and Experience Required

Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) as a minimum.

Strong understanding of SEND legislation, processes and EHC pathways.

Experience working within complex systems, preferably within children’s services, SEND, or education settings.

Previous experience working with families, children or young people.

Excellent organisational, communication and case management skills.
This is an excellent role for an experienced SEND practitioner or caseworker who can confidently manage statutory responsibilities and deliver high-quality outcomes for children and young people.
