Interim Head of Early Help
Based in East London, hybrid working
Length: 6 Months

We are currently recruiting for an interim Head of Early Help for a local authority in East London. The successful candidate will lead the Targeted Early Help service for the local authority, through inspirational leadership, where they will advocate for, lead and implement the multi-agency Best Chance, Early Help and action plan.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of Early Help:
- Lead in the strategic development of the service in the context of wider Early Help offer, including building relationships across the partnership with a wealth of stakeholders
- Provide leadership on the development and maintenance of robust recording of impactful practice, robust and proactive management that evidences the impact the service is making across the borough as well as in each of its locality-based hubs
- Work closely with Commissioning Leads for Early Help, Health, Disabilities and Schools, to identify needs across each of the three localities and address gaps in provision
- Lead on the development of the three locality Best Chance Family Hubs and Locality Based Forums to develop integrated working, across the wider Early Help partnership and supporting local community and children and family engagement.
- Drive and fully embed the delivery of the practice standards and the new CARES Practice and evaluation Framework within the Targeted Early Help Services
- Ensure there are robust systems in place for the management of oversight and risk of all early help cases to safeguard children and young people
- Work closely with Children’s Social Care to ensure there are joined up arrangements to support families including both step up to social care and step down to Early Help services
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Head of Early Help:
- Experience in a similar role at senior level
- Experience in leading, managing and motivating teams to safeguard children and achieve improved outcomes
- Successful track record of delivering transformational change within a local authority
- Knowledge of legislation and guidance as it relates to children, young people, and families
