Interim Head of Integrated Finance Required
Our client, a prestigious local authority in the South West, is looking for a Deputy S151 positon Head of Integrated Finance to come on board for an initial 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.
Location: South West (Fully Remote)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Contract Length: 3 months +
Daily Rate: £700 - £800 via Umbrella

Day to Day Duties:
- To form a professional opinion on forecast and capture financial and non-financial input through business case development and implementation of transformational change initiatives
- Identify areas for cost efficiency, performance improvement and service development
- Ensure that all aspects of the financial service are adequately communicated and embedded through departmental practice
- Responsible for delivering programmes of work within the allocated net budget for the Council of circa £190m, including forecasting and funding opportunities, ensuring value for money
- Deal with complex, sensitive and confidential enquiries from a range of stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with the framework of accounting codes of practice, legislative, corporate and departmental requirements
- Provide a business partner service to support services in the delivery of change
- Contribute to the effective development of a service plan in consultation with stakeholders which align to corporate plans and strategies as appropriate
- Financial planning and the provision of regular financial information, via different media, to defined stakeholders
- Recommend changes to the finance service to achieve efficiencies, working towards corporate aims, to ensure the service proactively responds to the changing shape of the organisation
- Identify and constructively challenge financial benefits associated with major change activities
- Deputise for the Assistant Director of Finance /other Heads of Service as required
Essential Skills:
- Fully qualified CCAB Accountant or equivalent, or fully qualified AAT and prepared to study and complete a CCAB or equivalent qualification within 3 years
- Wide knowledge and understanding of Local Government finance, with a good understanding of accounting standards and codes of practice
- Knowledge of the modernisation agenda and issues facing local government in general, and finance in particular
