Interim Head of Service (Corporate Governance) – 6 Months – Home Counties – Up to 600 per day Umbrella
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established organisation within Local Government in the Home Counties area who are recruiting for an Interim Head of Service (Corporate Governance) to join their department.
The organisation are ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis due to the nature of the role, however candidates offering part-time hours will also be considered.
This assignment is offered for a period of 6 Months to cover permanent recruitmentand will be working on a remote basis with the possibility of office attendance ideally 1 day per week in addition to evening meetings twice a month (time off given in lieu).
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Legal Lead to join a reputable Public Sector Organisation.
The successful candidate will be supported by a team of governance lawyers so it is a great opportunity to join a well-established organisation.
Responsibilities may include:

To attend the Leadership Team meetings, prepare and submit papers for discussion at those meetings and contribute to the operational and strategic management of the team in order to achieve continuous improvements in services

To manage a team of professional staff, both admitted and non-admitted, to include recruitment, selection, motivation and development, performance appraisal and monitoring caseloads and output

To attend courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required, and also to instruct and manage suppliers of external legal services such as solicitors and barristers

To represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters relevant to the specialist areas
The Client are seeking a quick turnaround, so the successful candidate must be available to commence the position as soon as possible.
An attractive rate of up to £600 per day Umbrella is offered for this position.
