Health and Safety Advisor

Job Title: Part Time Health, Safety and Risk Advisor

As a Health, Safety and Risk Advisor, you will be responsible for the providing competent   specialist advice, guidance and support to managers and staff throughout the Community Trust regarding risk, health and safety and estates responsibilities

The successful candidate must have experience in working within the NHS

Project & duties will include:

• Work with operational services - clinical and non-clinical - in planning and implementing a proactive policy of health and safety-related risk management
• Introduce and promote the concept of health and safety-related risk management and governance across the Trust, encouraging and motivating involvement
• Initiate and develop policies and procedures relating to risk management and health and safety, and to produce, evaluate and update such policies and procedures as required
• Review and advise on health and safety legislation, regulations, orders and codes of practice
• Support any reviews of the Trust’s incident reporting system and Trust risk register as a computerised database and produce health and safety-related risk reports
• To be responsible for co-ordinating and updating the Facilities Directorate’s high-level risk register
• Undertake site inspections in respect of risk management and health and safety audits throughout the Trust, and elsewhere as required

Essential Skills/Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma
• Worked within a large, diverse healthcare organisation
• Computer literate, use of Microsoft smart suite applications
