Housing and Communities Manager

Hours: 37.5 hrs
Location: Warwickshire

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Representing the Council on local partnership boards
- Identifying and securing external funding for the delivery of service improvement
- Being accountable for the budgets relating to the Housing and Communities service area to ensure they are managed in accordance with service expectations
- Leading the Housing and Communities effectively to ensure the council excellent housing needs/provisions
- Providing a coherent cross-tenure private sector housing service
- Overseeing the councils statutory duties in relation to the private sector housing function
- Overseeing the Communities and Social Inclusion Team
- Acting as Safeguarding lead and drive the improvement of the approach to safeguarding organisationally
- Undertaking homelessness and housing register reviews as they arise
- Supporting Head of Service as required
- Monitoring expenditure and income against agreed revenue and capital budgets
- Identify opportunities for reducing expenditure
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant Professional Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing a team
- Experience of commissioning and contract management services
- An understanding of homelessness and housing legislation
- Detailed knowledge of the private sector housing standards, agenda and legislative framework
- The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own car
