Housing Officer – URGENTLY Required
Duration: 4 week temporary contract / possibility of extension
Location: WFH with 1.5 days on site in Tamworth
Hours: 37.5 hours Mon – Fri
Pay Rate: Between £19 - £21 umbrella (Dependent on experience)
An opening has arisen for a Housing Officer in the Tamworth area. Said individual shall provide high quality neighbourhood management to residents of Tamworth with specific focus on tenancy related rights, obligations and responsibilities and ensure high levels of customer care and satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- To be responsible for effective case management and day to day activities around tenancy rights and obligations in relation to the tenancy agreement
- To ensure the Council responds in a pro-active way to issues of anti-social behaviour and breaches of tenancy conditions within the framework of a joined up corporate approach
- Assist the Neighbourhood Resilience Manager in obtaining and sustain the Respect Accredited Standard
- Attend daily Police briefing, partnership meetings, Vulnerability Meeting, Marac and Mappa to represent the Team
- Assist in preparing team work plans
- Attend Court where appropriate in line with Policy and Procedure for cases of anti-social behaviour and tenancy management
- Ensure all tenancy related right rights are processed in a timely and efficient manner including abandonments, joint to sole tenancies, sole to joint, succession and tenancy termination
- Undertake timely new tenancy visits
- Carry out property inspections
- Monitor and action use and occupation accounts to make best use of stock
- Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to ensure appropriate tenancy support
- Attend CIN, case conferences, and TAF meetings as required
- Carry out evictions when appropriate including section 41 notices with inventories and appropriate storage
- Investigate and bring resolution to boundary disputes
- Work with the tenant regulatory and involvement team to ensure a joined up approach to estate walkabouts and other tenant related activity
The successful candidate will have:
- Enhanced DBS
- Detailed knowledge of tenancy and ASB related legislation
