Housing Options Officer (remote working)
Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for an interim Housing Options Officer for a highly reputable Local Authority based in Dorset to begin temporary employment within their team.
Location: Dorset
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 3 Months +
Rate: Negotiable (DOE)
Day to Day Duties:
- Assist clients who present as potentially homeless and work with them to find housing and accommodation solutions
- Manage cases of homeless clients and enable them to move on to alternative accommodation
- Conduct one to one interviews with Service Users and carry out a triage service at reception
- Deal with all levels of homelessness prevention and housing options
- Manage a caseload of up to 25 clients
- Make Section 184 decisions and issue letters accordingly
- Create and maintain reports
- Keep up to date on Homelessness and other relevant legislations
- Provide housing advice both over the phone and face to face
- Liaise with external agencies including Social Services and signpost tenants for additional support
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with Homeless clients
- Good knowledge of homelessness and private sector legislation
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Driver with their own vehicle
