Venn Group is currently recruiting for a HR Advisor for a public sector organisation based in Lichfield.
This role is permanent paying a salary of £28k - £30k and will be 2 days a week on site in Lichfield.
Duties:
- Act as the first HR point of contact for Line Managers and Investigating Managers offering advice on a broad range of ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence issues (short and long term), flexible working requests, probation reviews etc ensuring fair, consistent and proactive case management
- Manage end-to-end employee relation issues, ensuring cases are resolved as quickly as possible relative to the particular case whilst also considering any impact or obligation in relation to CQC and/or safeguarding
- Liaise with the Safeguarding regarding any safeguarding issues as applicable
- To ensure any absences (sickness, AWOL etc) are addressed appropriately and in line with the sickness absence management procedure, referring to occupational health as deemed necessary
- Actively promote a 'right first time' approach by following HR policies and processes and therefore reducing the risk of litigation
- Complete all associated activities regarding case management, including the issuing and reviewing of invite and outcome letters and investigation packs as well as attending meetings as required
- Maintain and update all appropriate case notes, records and tasks within the appropriate case management system and documents stored in the employees HR file
- Seek advice and guidance and/or escalate high risk cases to Senior HR Advisors, as appropriate
- Identify any cases where DBS referrals may need to be made, liaise with the HR operations team with regard to providing all appropriate documentation to ensure accurate information is provided for the referral
- Assist when required in collating employee information and preparation for employment tribunals
- Remain up to date on relevant employment legislation to ensure appropriate advice is provided and to understand implications of advice
- Assist with the drafting and implementing of HR policies and procedures where required, including updates to reflect changes in employment law
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR at all times
- Support and participate in ad hoc projects as agreed by the Head of HR and/or HR Business Partner
