Senior Income Officer and Income Officer Vacancy

We are currently recruiting for an Income Officer and a Senior Income Officer on a temporary basis for 6 months working for a highly reputable Housing Association based in Oxfordshire
Location: Hybrid working on site in Oxford
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Length: 6 months temporary
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for customers and colleagues, handling a wide range of income related calls and queries from residents
- Maximising the collection of tenants, account arrears and other rechargeable income
- Ensuring that tenants are managed effectively within the policies, service plan and strategies of the organisation
- Negotiate an acceptable level of repayment of arrears explaining legal implications of non-compliance
- Manage referrals to the court service either directly or via court officers to ensure appropriate legal (where possible DIY court action) and recovery action is taken
- Provide comprehensive advice and information to tenants on rent payments, welfare benefit entitlement and debt counselling
- Assist vulnerable tenants by making referrals to support services and liaising with support workers and other staff
- Regularly liaise with internal and external source such as other housing teams and council departments to build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients
- Carry out any necessary administrative tasks as and when required
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of working in a housing association dealing with income collection and recovery
- Familiarity of managing rents and procedures around maximising income
- Knowledge and application of housing legislation such as Welfare Reform
- Court application work
- Attending court
