Independence and Wellbeing Advisor Required via Venn Group
Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for a temporary Independence and Wellbeing Advisor for our client based in Devon to begin employment within their friendly team.
Location: Devon
Contract Type: 2-3 months temporary (Possibility of going permanent)
Hours: 8:30 – 5:00pm Monday to Friday (Agile working – Hybrid)

Responsibilities include:
- To operate as a lone worker, without direct supervision to monitor and ensure the well-being of sheltered housing tenants and provide support to tenants to remain independent in their own homes with privacy and security
- Offer assistance to tenants and other service users and provide help in cases of emergency, responding promptly to all emergency calls or illness until emergency aid arrives and/or relative’s assistance is obtained
- Keep up-to-date records for each customer in line with current procedures
- Conduct health and safety site inspections, visits and other estate management duties, including assessing compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995
- Undertake new customer viewings and complete risk and needs assessments to identify prospective customer needs and suitability for supported housing
- Actively promote and help to organise communal activities and outings for customers
- Maintain the security of any communal parts of the premises and monitor cleanliness and tidiness of the sites
- Provide Health Coaching through holistic conversation to enable customers, to gain knowledge, skills, tools and confidence so that they can reach their self-identified goals
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience of working with elderly clients
- Current Enhanced DBS
- Current clean driving licence and use of your own vehicle
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Able to plan and manage own workload to achieve deadlines
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in dealing with bereavement and loss
- Up to date knowledge of Housing Benefits
- An understanding of both housing management and support services
