Job description: Venn Group have been approached by a Local Authority in Cheshire to recruit an Independent Reviewing Officer. The vacancy will be running for 3 months with a possible extension.

Duties:

Chairing review meetings, attending and chairing any meeting in conjunction with the review of a child’s plan, occasionally chairing other meetings within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit.
Consulting with the child and ensuring that the child’s views are clearly understood and taken into account during the care planning and review process.
Decide what actions are necessary to meet the child’s needs and to endorse the care plan and make specific and measurable recommendations accordingly.
Monitor the Local Authority’s performance in relation to a child’s care planning, checking that the agreed actions are being implemented and in so doing, ensuring that the Local Authority fulfils its duties as a Corporate Parent. In exceptional circumstances referring the Local Authority to CAFCASS.

The successful candidate will be required to travel in and around Cheshire.

Hourly Rate: £40 through an Umbrella Company
