Care Assistant / Independent Travel Trainer (Special Educational Needs Department)
Rate: £20 per hour
Start: ASAP
Location: Birmingham
Duration: Until the end of October
Extension: Option to be made permanent
Payment: Weekly via Umbrella Company
Summary:
We are currently working with a public sector organisation in Birmingham who require the assistance of an Independent Travel Trainer, initially on an interim basis. The position will see you Provide SEND students with the skills to increase their independence when travelling to and from school.
Key Duties:
- Take responsibility for all aspects of the travel training programme for the individual student to whom they are assigned
- Help SEND students develop their confidence and independence when travelling to and from school
- Act as a point of contact and support for the parents
- Liaise with other professionals on behalf of the student
- Keep continuous records of progress at each stage
- Assess routes and student progress
- Promote social inclusion and a healthy lifestyle

- Ability to manage a training programme for SEND students
