Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Improvement Programme Manager for a large Public Sector Organisation based in Derby. This is a Fixed Term Contract role for initially 6 months with possibility of extension offering a salary of between £65-75k per annum pro rata dependent on experience.
This is a full-time role with onsite presence required 3 days per week.
The purpose of this role is to take a strategic approach using knowledge of local and national policy and People Services priorities to identify opportunities for transformational change.
Duties:
- Develop a comprehensive and cohesive programme plan which is consistent with the overall programme timetable, financial delivery minimises unnecessary disruption to stakeholders involved in the process and is operationally sound
- Provide succinct, verbal and written updates on the progress of all improvement projects at forums at all levels within the organisation. Escalate to the Directors of Culture and People Services any risks to the programme and subsequent management plans
- Responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme / workstreams, developing and maintaining robust governance arrangements to support each individual project within it
- Identify suitable monitoring techniques, information flows and reporting processes for the programme including working with financial colleagues to ensure robust financial delivery, particularly important for projects supporting the organisation’s Improvement Plans, including financial
- Specify and manage suitable transition management activities for the programme
- Responsible for ensuring that the pace and scope of the work is in line with the programme plan and its timetable and key milestones
- Identify areas of contention amongst different stakeholder interests relating to the programme of work and develop and employ strategies to pre-empt and handle these issues
- Capture, monitor and track risks, managing key strategic risks facing the programme
- Provide expert programme management to the workstreams
- Support the Directors of Culture and People Services, workstream leads, Executive Sponsor, and other stakeholders in setting, maintaining and delivering the programme strategy in line with the wider strategy
