Infrastructure Delivery Manager
Location: remote working
Length of contract: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
A Central Government organisation is seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Manager to work with contractors and infrastructure colleagues in other government departments on a range of technical deliverables and would be likely to have a civil engineering or similar technical background.
Please note that this is physical infrastructure (buildings) and not IT.
Key Requirements
- Significant experience of technical project delivery on major construction projects
- Ability to quickly gain confidence of technical counterparts and partners in delivery
- Experience of working in or with HM Government
- Skills and experience to manage complex intergovernmental relationships through collaboration to ensure that requirements are met in a context of competing priorities
- Prince 2 Practitioner / PMP or equivalent with a sound understanding of project management tools and methodologies, and experience of applying them in practice
- Experienced in delivering fast-paced, challenging projects within agreed time, cost and quality constraints
- Familiar with methods to map out and engage with stakeholders, as well as confident and experienced in developing relationships with those internal and external to the organisation
- Practical experience of managing project risks and issues, including design of appropriate strategies to manage these, discuss them with stakeholders and also be considerate of them in the context of wider organisational strategies
- Excellent Stakeholder engagement abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Managing delivery by multiple work-streams and coordinating activities of delivery partners, including Other Government Departments, sub-contractors and consultants to ensure delivery to cost, time, quality and scope, actively engaging senior level support when required
- Lead on the design and test of operator services through a third-party supplier
- Planning and delivering site testing strategy and handover to users
- Working effectively across technical, policy, planning and contractor teams to develop technical solutions to construction and delivery issues
- Delivery planning, risk assessment and project management
- Sharing technical support to Devolved Administrations, and managing technical relationships with counterparts to inform and advise on progress
- Input into design meetings and attending sites as needed
- Significant input into project and programme plans
