Interim Assistant Director - Lifelong Learning and Employability
We are currently working with a large Local Authority who require the support of an Interim Assistant Director - Lifelong Learning and Employability.
The reset portfolio of this role will enable the capacity and leadership required to focus on high profile strategic agendas to the authority relating to skills and employment, and the development of libraries in line with the Early Help strategy.

Job Summary:
- This role brings together all of the teams in Children and Families that work directly with schools, colleges, post 16 training providers and universities, to lead a strategic partnership focused approach to ensuring our young people can access appropriate and diverse education and employment pathways which enable them to thrive.
- The role requires a dynamic and strategic leader who will take lead responsibility for the provision of a portfolio of services that includes Youth Skills and Employability Service, Adult Employability and skills, 14-29 Progression Pathway for young people with Special
- Youth Hubs, Educational Needs and Disability, Lifelong Learning, Family Learning, Community Libraries. The role encompasses policy and strategy formation focussed around breaking down barriers, digital inclusion and work focussed on regeneration/inclusive growth
- The role requires a relentless focus on achieving the best outcomes for all of the areas young people, and the capacity to innovate as we develop our inclusive libraries and lifelong learning strategies.

Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 month contract initially with likely extensions
Rate: £600 - £850per day (Inside IR35)
This role will be mostly remote working, however you will be required onsite around once a week.
