Interim Equalities and Policy HR Advisor
Location: London (x1 day in the office per week)
IR35: Inside
Length: 3 months initially
We are currently supporting a London Borough who are looking to bring in an interim professional HR specialist ensuring the provision of an outstanding HR advisory service, specifically in EDI.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop the council’s employment policies and procedures and ensure relevant legislation is complied with
- Supporting the development, implementation and reporting of corporate strategies and action plans (eg. Community Action Plan and Equality Strategy)
- Ensuring for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and policy related objectives in HR Service Plan are achieved
- Ensuring compliance with legislation in terms of Equality and Diversity requirements and workforce reporting
- Supporting corporate projects from an HR perspective
- Providing Directors and stakeholders with data, analysis and input for HR added value
- Coaching, advising, training and supporting line managers in their understanding of Council HR Policies and EDI duties
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of policy deficiency
Experience required:
- Professional member of the CIPD at MCIPD or FCIPD, or equitable demonstrable experience
- Evidence of continual professional development as a human resources practitioner
- Knowledge and understanding of key human resources processes such as Equality Impact Assessments
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of human resources best practice in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion coupled with a thorough understanding of the practical application of current and upcoming employment law
- Experience of researching, developing and writing HR policy and/ or strategy
- Successful experience of furthering the EDI agenda in an organisation
- Successful experience delivering human resources advice and support to multi-sited stakeholders across the human resources functions, including within working group
