Venn Group have a position available for an Interim Head of Estates Capital Strategic Development within a leading NHS trust in South Yorkshire
This is a key role on a temporary 9 month contract
The successful candidate must have experience working in Estates/Facilities
The duties will include:

Managing and co-ordinating all estates programmes to deliver significant investment schemes, working closely with all project owners from clinical directorates, and taking the estates lead for agreed strategic investment proposals from concept through to delivery. The schemes must be managed within agreed performance measures and timely monitoring information provided

Supporting reviews of clinical or corporate service configuration by analysing impact on estates capacity of proposed changes and advising on capital or other consequences of proposals

Providing expert advice to Clinical Directorates and Capital Board on the estates elements of capital business cases and the conduct of capital planning and procurement arrangements

Ensuring all statutory and mandatory requirements are adhered to within capital development schemes

Ensuring compliance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs) or similar procedural documents in the processes used for tendering out schemes and awarding Orders to contractors

Manage the on-going estates elements of the capital planning process, ensuring all major projects are commissioned and project managed to achieve the time, cost and project objectives set by Capital Board

Represent the estates capital planning & strategic development function by participation in or attendance at a range of high level Trust governance groups including but not limited to Capital Board; Business Planning Group; Executive Directors Group and Trust Board

Support reviews of clinical or corporate services configurations, analysing the impact on estates capacity of proposed changes and advising on estates and related consequences. May include both expansion and rationalisation of the estate, and participation in working groups or programme boards convened to manage such changes

Influence the progress of estates capital schemes from Outline to Full Business Case stage, ensuring that optimal solutions are developed within the agreed timescale, and influences the development and management of the Trust’s Capital Plan/programme

Overall management of estates capital project budgets which will vary but will typically range from £5M to £20M or more, including co-ordinating selection of suppliers, and selection and purchasing of assets (goods of various types) to enable the project to be completed and delivered. Overall budget management of designated Facilities Directorate revenue budgets
Essential Skills/Qualifications

Full UK Driving Licence – and Own Transport

Educated to Masters (MBA/MSc) level or equivalent, Relevant Post-graduate qualification or equivalent

Technical qualification e.g. HNC/HND/Degree or Project management qualification

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications e.g. spreadsheets, word processing/general IT applications
Desirable Skills/Qualifications

Understanding the operating environment of NHS organisations including clinical services
