Interim Management Accountant
Our client, a well-respected public sector body in Bournemouth, is looking for a Management Accountant to come on board on a temporary basis for a 12 month contract. The Management Accountant will work closely with the Finance Business Partner and colleagues within the Finance team to provide a comprehensive range of specialist and expert financial advice
Location: Bournemouth (Remote once trained)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 12 Months
Hourly Rate: £20.40 -£22.90 via Umbrella

Day to Day Duties:
- Producing monthly management accounting data and reports for a range of directorates
- Providing costings for service developments, reconfigurations and cost improvement plans
- Advising stakeholders in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions and financial procedures
- Providing a point of contact for financial queries
- Develop relationships with directorates through monthly meetings; providing advice and information to budget holders and to gain an understanding of the key drivers for each directorate
- Produce monthly budget reports in line with departmental deadlines. To investigate and provide appropriate advice on complex queries from internal and external sources i.e. budget holders, trust staff, private organisations
- Assist with the production of high quality, consistent and timely financial information and advice to support the finance department and the wider business activities, including support with budget setting and monthly financial reporting
- Monitor and report on the progress of Cost Improvement Plans (CIPs) within the Care Group, highlighting areas of risk to senior managers and ensuring these are closely monitored
- Assist with coordinating the Care Group’s annual financial plan and contribute to the development of the Care Groups forward financial and service strategy and assist with the development and implementation of programmes to deliver the strategy
- Provide training and guidance to budget managers on a range of financial issues including budget monitoring, capital and financial procedures
- Provide costings for service developments and reconfigurations which will involve discussions with clinicians, managers, budget holders and finance staff
- Effectively analyse, interpret and communicate a range of complex technical financial information to both finance and non-finance staff
Essential Skills:
- Extensive accountancy experience within the public sector
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel)
- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CCAB)
- NHS Experience
- Experience liaising with Budget Holders
