Interim Payroll Officer required immediately
A position has arisen for a Payroll Officer within a well-respected public sector organisation in Salisbury. This would be a 3 month assignment.
Rate: £20.75 - £22.98 per hour via Umbrella
Duration: 3 months
Location: Salisbury (Flexible Remote working)

Your duties will include:
- Weekly end to end payroll run for 1,000 staff with ADI’s (validate & transfer ADI batches) including BACS & GL
- Staff training with procedure notes for a monthly payroll of 10,000 including a monthly supplementary payroll
- ADI input
- Resolving difficult and complex queries and complaints arising from employees and managers relating to payroll issues in a professional and timely manner
- Overpayment letters completed, checked, invoice sent to Elfs & then recovered from Payroll & queries from customer/client for these
- Saving all items from client e-mail inbox for input (contracts, creating new starter spreadsheet for Payroll Assistants to complete)
- Approving Manager Self Service & saving the e-mails from workforce & creating a spreadsheet for Payroll Assistants to input
- Checking Payroll Assistants work including maternity, shared parental leave, court orders, contractual changes etc.
- Analyse, verify and apply data prepared by the team and ensure amended records are correct
- Apply, interpret and advise on the various conditions of service to ensure correct payments are made complying to policies, procedures, best practices, employment law, statutory obligations and internal audit requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- Extensive knowledge of payroll procedures and statutory regulations
- Excellent payroll systems knowledge
