Interim Programme Director
Location: London (remote)
Length: 3 months initially, 2/3 days per week
IR35 Status: Inside
Our local authority client is looking to recruit an Interim Programme Director to provide oversight to a longstanding Pan-London Public Health Transformation Programme.
Key responsibilities:
- Finalise the programme’s direction for the year including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement approach, and service developments
- Oversee commissioning, procurement and monitoring of contracts and suppliers and stakeholder engagement activities
- Ensure plans are in place across each of the programmes workstreams and manage delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard
- Manage risks to reputation and delivery of the programme
- Ensure programme governance is in place
- Lead a virtual matrix team, based across boroughs and partner organisations and includes supervision of a full time Transformation Programme Manager
- Strengthen relationships through modelling a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes and embedding this approach across London
Experience required:
- Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering complex, high value programmes and portfolios using a structured programme management process and programme management methods, principles, techniques and tools
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of NHS, Local Authority and private/voluntary sector provision, ideally in Smoking Cessation
- Detailed knowledge of commissioning policy, practice and legislative issues, including where relevant best practice in commissioning process and practice
- Experience of successfully leading multi- disciplinary, multi stakeholder programme teams in a politically sensitive and complex environment
