Interim Strategic Finance Business Partner

A local authority in London is recruiting for a Strategic Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial business partnering support to the corporate core and front-line service areas of the council.
Main Responsibilities:
- Apply professional judgement to interpret and apply policies and procedures to meet specific local and service needs
- Provide day o day management and professional supervision to staff to ensure operational plans and activities are delivered effectively
- Provide assurance that the council’s operations are being conducted with defined regulatory, statutory and professional standards
- Support the Head of Financial Planning & Business partnering to lead and coordinate medium term financial planning for the council’s revenue budgets
- Provide direct lune management to 1-5 staff to support the rea o the business that you are allocated to as the Strategic Finance Business Partner
- Support in the development of the Medium-Term Financial Plan and take responsibility for ensuring the MTFP is underpinned by robust and accurate working paper
- Assist the department in managing performance indicators and relationships within service contracts towards continued service improvement, value for money and generating social value
- Make a significant contribution towards building a sustainable, highly effective service that delivers exceptional value for its residents through leadership on financial stewardship, insight and innovation
- Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure best use of limited financial resources, providing the strategic financial advice, insight, intelligence and support needed
Key Skills:
- Qualified ACCA / ACA / CIPFA / CIMA or AAT (or QBE)
- Extensive knowledge of planning, setting, control and monitoring of budgets within set allocations
- Direct experience working within a local authority
- Proven ability to work fluidly in ambiguous circumstances
