Interim Internal Communications and Engagement Officer
Based in Brent, hybrid – 3 days on site
Length: 3 months initially with possibility of extension
Inside IR35
Rate: £34.24 per hour via an umbrella company
We are working with a London-based Local Authority to recruit an interim Internal Communications and Engagement Officer, who will proactively manage the internal communications and engagement portfolio
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee audience-led communications and employee engagement plans
- Support the Building a Better Brent programme with communications that drive digital transformation
- Lead corporate internal communications, enabling departments to align their messaging with corporate standards
- Evaluate and improve internal communication channels and engagement strategies
- Lead virtual teams to deliver impactful, cost-effective internal communication strategies
- Create diverse internal communications using various channels, including digital, print, events, and social media
- Advise and support senior leadership on internal messaging, including speeches, emergency communications, and presentations
- Lead employee engagement projects, including recognition schemes, staff events, and surveys
- Ensure all materials comply with the 1988 Local Government Act on publicity
Experience and knowledge required:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Internal Comms withint Local Government
- Proven experience running successful employee engagement programs
- Demonstrated ability to run successful internal campaigns
