Venn Group is working with a Local Authority in Hampshire to recruit a permanent IT/Digital Services Operation Manager to manage operational IT service delivery with 3rd party partners and direct delivery of services. The IT/Digital Services Operation Manager role is critical to maintaining line of business IT systems for successful delivery of services to the council’s residents.
Salary: Grade 10 - £59,729 - £66,727
Location: Hampshire - Hybrid working is required (1-2 days per week on-site)
Working Time: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the council’s core IT operational delivery including all applications & platforms, ensuring they meet business needs, perform to expected standards and demonstrate best value
- Direction and management to the IT operational and applications resources allocated so they work effectively with the other functions across the Council in specifying, selecting, implementing, configuring, integrating and replacing current and new communications, data management and end user computing services
- Supports the overall management of a team of technical staff across a wide and complex technology landscape who manage a varied and complex IT security, storage, end user computing and communications landscape which enables the Council to fulfil its core business objectives and deliver services effectively
Required Skills / Experience:
- Extensive and proven experience as a technical/operational manager with accountability for successful service delivery across a range of disciplines within a complex, ITIL-based ICT environment including external 3rd party suppliers and development partners
- Knowledge and experience of leading on a range of delivery lifecycles within an IT environment, specialising in IT operational lifecycle management, from initiation through requirements gathering, procurement, design, testing, deployment, service transition and change management
- Experience of managing and mitigating ICT and associated business risks across large and complex technology environments and platforms
- Extensive experience of working at a strategic level with key stakeholders, navigating top level organisational politics with evidence of managing by influence to achieve successful outcomes to complex business problems
- Extensive experience of financial budgeting, planning, forecasting, analytics and management reporting across complex service environments
- Considerable experience of creating, building, leading, and motivating individuals and teams including staff recruitment and performance management (both direct reports and matrix aligned staff)
