Interim Lead Commissioner (Adults and Older People)
Based in London, hybrid working
Length: up to 6 months from June 2023

The Lead Commissioner position sits within Care and Support Commissioning and will be reporting directly to the Head of Commissioning (Adults).
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of Commissioning (Adults and Older People):
- Responsible for redesigning and re-procuring Homecare and Reablement models
- Varying and disaggregating of the current care technology contract and mobilisation with new suppliers
- Leading on any dementia commissioning activity
- Finalisation of the Market Position Statement and launch it with the market
- Any required ad hoc support around the Better Care Fund where required
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Lead Commissioner (Adults and Older People):
- Looking for a candidate who can demonstrate experience and success in Strategic Commissioning in Adult Social Care
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities to take projects through to fruition
- Expertise and experience in homecare and reablement commissioning
- Deep understanding and experience in working with defined client groups, including the issues affecting service users, carers and families, legislative and policy drivers, good practice and innovation
- Proven experience of successfully developing and managing external partnerships, carrying out effective commercial negotiations and managing provider markets
- Knowledge of the key issues facing local government
