- Highly experienced Local Government Solicitor who specialises in Employment Law and Housing Litigation
- Previous experience managing the Litigation team of Lawyers which deals with criminal prosecutions, Inquests, Housing (possession claims and housing disrepair), Anti-social behaviour Injunctions, Judicial Reviews, employment claims, and contractual claims
- Handed a caseload of Housing Litigation matters to include possession claims, housing disrepair and Anti-social behaviour injunctions
- Acting as the Sole Specialist Employment Lawyer at a City Council dealing with all employment matters including unfair dismissal, breaches of contract, attendance and absenteeism, whistleblowing, discrimination claims under the Equality Act 2010
- Handled high profile cases including multi-party employment claims of term time workers, Whistling blowing employment claims, High court actions involving Injunctions, Art 2 Inquests and complex housing matters concerning succession and abandonment
- Negotiated with regional trade union representatives a multi-party employment claim for term time workers involving over 2,000 employees across schools and Academies
- Dealt with mediation, drafting settlement agreement, COT3’s and ET3’s
- Successfully defended an application for interim relief pursuant to s128 of the Employments Act 1996 drafted the pleadings, skeleton argument and undertook the advocacy at the ET
- Drafted pleadings for complex whistling blowing claims involving breaches of safeguarding, procurement and planning law
- Dealt with claims for breaches of contract, Redundancy Modification Order, holiday pay and defamation and malicious false statements in respect of references
- Implemented training across the Council in respect of employment law to HR and section heads which included discrimination, recruitment, writing references, DBS and safeguarding, whistleblowing and contractual matters
- Provided advice on Governance to Director of Legal and Democratic Services
