Locum Assistant Director of Legal & DMO– 3-6 Months – Mostly Remote Working – West Midlands – up to £700 per day Umbrella
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the West Midlands region who are recruiting for a Locum Assistant Director of Legal to join their busy department.
The Organisation are ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis due to the nature of the role.
This assignment is offered for an initial period of 3-6 months however there is a strong possibility of extension thereafter. The role will be on a mostly remote basis however, some flexible office presence for statutory meetings will be required.
The successful candidate will need to be an experienced Legal Lead within the Public Sector with experience as a Head of Legal or Director in Local Government as this is a large team.
Responsibilities may include:

Creating a corporate working culture across the Council focussed on excellence, continuous improvement, high professional and service standards, in relation to the law; Safeguarding, Criminal Litigation, Economy, Housing & Licensing, Employment & Civil Litigation, Commercial & Employment Law

Managing the Legal Services Trading Account and optimise its capability to ensure that the Council’s financial, physical and human resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to achieve best value for the Council whilst being flexible to changing demands and pressures

Developing a Legal & Democratic Services Department so that it has the self-confidence to respond flexibly to an ever-changing local government environment, the need for excellence and the needs and expectations of client departments

Acting as Deputy Monitoring Officer for the Client and assisting the Monitoring Officer where needed
An attractive rate of up to £700 Umbrella per day is offered for this position.
