Locum Property Lawyer – Full or Part Time, 3–6 month initial contract
We are currently working with a well-regarded Local Authority in East of England who are seeking a part-time Locum Property Lawyer to join their team on an interim basis. This role offers hybrid working, with an initial expectation of attending the office on the first day, and thereafter just once every 3 to 4 weeks.
The successful candidate will be an experienced local government property lawyer, confident in handling a broad caseload of commercial conveyancing matters. This will largely involve landlord and tenant matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, alongside land sales and acquisitions. There may also be some light residential conveyancing, but no Right to Buy work.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive legal professional looking for a flexible, part-time arrangement within the Public Sector.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in local authority commercial property work
- Confident handling 1954 Act lease matters
- Familiarity with land sales/purchases within a council context
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Assignment Details:
- Duration: 3–6 months initial contract
- Hours: Full or Part time hours per week, flexible working pattern
- Location: East of England
- Start Date: ASAP, interviews taking place next week
