Locum Education Solicitor – West Midlands – Remote Working – September start (10 Month Contract) – £40- 50 per hour (Umbrella)
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a reputable Local Authority in the West Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Education Solicitor to join their department.
This is a full-time assignment and will begin in line with the new academic year in September. The role is offered for an initial period of 10 months with the possibility of extension and will be worked on a fully remote basis for the foreseeable future.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive to become part of a forward thinking, proactive Local Authority. This role would also be ideal for someone who is currently in a permanent position on 1-3 months' notice and would be interested in joining the locum market.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and Education Law.
Duties may include:
- Providing legal advice to the local authority and schools on education law matters
- Dealing with all aspects of appeals to the SEND Tribunal, which included drafting responses to appeals, instructing expert witnesses
- Handling interim applications and effectively negotiated and resolved appeals
- Supporting the Education Department with SEN ‘Guidance Notes’
An hourly rate of up to £50 per hour (umbrella) is offered for this position.
