Locum Employment Lawyer – Predominantly Remote Working – Up to £55 per hour (Umbrella) – East Midlands
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are thrilled to be recruiting for a Locum Employment Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority based in the East Midlands.
This assignment is offered for a period of 3 months and will be worked on a predominantly remote working basis with 1 day per week in the office & attending Employment Tribunals in the East Midlands area.
Our client are ideally looking for the appointed candidate to work full time hours however candidates with the right experience that can only work part time will also be considered.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with previous Employment Law experience to become a part of a well-established Local Authority. Previous Public Sector experience is desirable but not essential so those from a Private Practice background are also encouraged to apply.
Daily duties may include:
- Representing the client before Tribunals, Courts (including higher Courts) and at internal panels
- Advising on employment matters (both contentious and non-contentious) and representing clients in employment tribunals
- Handling employment tribunal claims including cases of whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and discrimination
- Providing advice on matters relating to employment issues affecting the client, including general employment advice
- Offering guidance with respect to staff misconduct proceedings
- Using case management skills in relation to ET’s and EC’s
- Advising senior managers and HR professionals on a range of employment law issues
An attractive rate of up to £55 per hour umbrella is offered for this position. Candidates will be considered on a case by case basis, and the hourly rate shown will be dependent upon levels of experience – there may be a degree of flexibility for the right candidate.
