Locum Employment Lawyer
Up to £55 umbrella per hour
Local Authority in the South East of England
3 month period initially, with very high possibility for extension
18.5 hours per week, remote, with in-person attendance mandatory for meetings and tribunals
Are you a driven Employment Lawyer looking to make a real difference? Venn Group is working with a brilliant local authority in the South East of England in their pursuit of an Employment Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month period, with the very high potential for long-term extension.
Requirements:
- Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate in the UK
- Specialism within Employment Law
- Evidence of practising Employment Law post-qualification
- Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation would be ideal
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Employment Law and providing representation when necessary
- Undertaking research as requested in relation to Employment Law including contracts and disputes regarding harassment, dismissal and discrimination
- Attending and advocating in court
- Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members
- Deputising for senior members of the legal team when necessary
