Job description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Family Solicitor to assist a reputable law firm in Chester. This is a temporary position offering flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to join a well-regarded team during a period of increased demand.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Chester (office-based or hybrid options may be considered)
Duration: Ongoing (initial 3 months with potential extension)
Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling a caseload of private family law matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation

  • Financial remedies

  • Private children matters

  • Cohabitation disputes and pre/post-nuptial agreements

• Providing clear, empathetic, and pragmatic legal advice

• Managing files independently with minimal supervision

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong private family law experience

• Proven ability to manage a varied caseload autonomously

• Excellent client care and communication skills

• Locum experience is desirable but not essential

Hourly rate: £45 - £50.00 per hour (outside IR35)
