Locum General Litigation Lawyer – East Midlands – Hybrid Working - 3 months initially – up to £45 per hour Umbrella
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Locum General Litigation Lawyer to join a respected Local Authority based in East Midlands.
This position is offered for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension and will be worked on mostly remote basis with occasional Court presence within the East Midlands required.
The ideal candidate will have experienced in contentious regulatory matters across the Public Sector including Housing, Prosecutions and Civil Litigation with experience gained within Local Government. The Client also requires the candidate to have a strong understanding of criminal procedure and disclosure rules with experience in County Court/Magistrates’ Court proceedings.
Daily Duties may include:

Handling a mixed litigation caseload, handling claims from start to finish

Drafting summons, indictments, case summaries and disclosure requests

Advising departmental offices and liaising with defence solicitors and members of the public

Attending Magistrates Court and dealing with advocacy

Assisting other members of the litigation team with casework and by prosecuting their cases at court

Dealing with multi-track, fast-track and small claims track Housing Disrepair Claims
An hourly rate of up to £45 per hour Umbrella will be considered for this position dependent upon experience.
