Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Full or Part-time - Remote Working – £60 Umbrella – Wales
Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is working with an established Local Authority in Wales which is looking to appoint an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer to join its team.
This is a full or part-time position for an initial duration of 3 months, subject to possible extension thereafter. The ideal candidate will have recent prior experience working within a Local Authority along with a broad working understanding of Litigation to deal with a varied caseload. Knowledge of and/or gained experience of Welsh legislation, including the Renting Homes Wales Act, is highly desirable. Fully remote working is available for the duration of the post.
Duties may include:
- Undertaking all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Litigation including housing possessions, ASB, injunctions, homelessness, and housing disrepair
- Liaising and working collaboratively with other legal representatives as well as providing guidance to other staff
- Preparing and managing a varied caseload in relation to Housing Management and supporting case preparation for court
- Undertaking legal advice and support to clients in a wide range of litigation matters, to include homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions, both for access to property and in relation to anti-social behaviour, traveller encampments and regulatory prosecutions; including the conduct of legal proceedings and appearing on behalf of the Council in court
- Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department.
An attractive hourly rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
