Locum Planning and Highways Lawyer – Full Time – Remote – Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella) – 3+ months - South of England

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are seeking an experienced Locum Planning and Highways Lawyer to join a well-regarded Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional to immerse themselves in a Local Authority, managing a varied caseload of planning, highways, and public rights of way matters.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on planning, highways, and public rights of way law
• Advise on S106 agreements, S38 & S278 highway agreements, and related legal matters
• Collaborate with Council officers to support planning and highways projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies

Requirements:

• Experience of working with Local Authorities, or a background in advising public sector clients
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Capable of working with minimum supervision

• Position: Planning and Highways Lawyer
• Location: Remote with equipment collection on first day
• Contract Length: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
• Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
