Locum Projects Lawyer – Remote Working – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Thames Valley
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Commercial Projects Lawyer to join a prestigious Local Authority in the Thames Valley. This assignment will be for an initial period of three to six months subject to likely possible extension thereafter. The role will be worked on a fully remote basis for the foreseeable. The client seeking someone on a full time basis however part time candidates possessing the right experience will be considered.
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Solicitor or Barrister who is able to handle a complex caseload of contracts and procurement matters with extensive professional experience gained within Local Government or Private Practice.
Duties may include:

Creating contract documentation (including JCT, MTC etc works contracts)

Drafting and negotiating agreements and funding documentation such as s.8 and s.278

Drafting framework agreements for the supply and installations and utilities

Advising on procurement compliance within the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and Utilities Regulations 2016

Providing legal, procurement, commercial and governance advice on a range of projects from start to finish

Advising on project boards and relevant governance committees where required.

Drafting variations to contracts and service level agreements

Advising on various contract issues - including framework agreements, data protection, interpretation of contracts, terms and conditions, working as part of a project team on bigger projects, governance and delegations

Maintaining a detailed knowledge of developments in law that could impact upon the Council’s work in relation to contracts and procurement

Any other work relating to contracts and procurement to assist the team
