Locum SEN Lawyer Advocate – 3-6 Months + – Remote Working – up to £60 per hour Umbrella – Home Counties
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum SEN Lawyer Advocate to join an excellent Local Authority in the Home Counties area. This assignment will be for an initial period of at least 3-6 months and issubject to possible extension thereafter.
The role will be performed on a remote working basis and the Authority are ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis, however candidates with part-time availability possessing relevant experience will be considered.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Local Government experience with solid understanding of a wide range of Education and SEND Tribunal matters.
Duties and previous experience/knowledge needed includes:
- Primarily dealing with the Advocacy and case management in SEN cases that we will be asked to do before the Tribunal
- Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law
- Experience in SEN Court Tribunal and procedures
- Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to, Education law, Judicial Review and FOI/ DPA
- Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings and witness statements
- Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise the key points of case law
An attractive hourly rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
