Management Accountant

Do you live In the Slough area, and have financial experience within an education group?

If so, Venn Group are supporting a Slough based Multi Academy Trust which consists of 7 academies, with the recruitment of a Management Accountant – Financial Systems and Reporting.

The successful post holder will have delegated responsibility from the Finance Director to review, improve and maintain the financial systems and processes of the Trust’s overall financial function. 

Job Profile:

• Prepare monthly management account reports with accuracy using IMP budget planning tool
• Work with the Finance Director to review and implement overall strategic change
• Advise on current and future financial issues and projects including feasibility studies, appraisals, preparation of business cases and funding options
• Ensure that financial policies adopted are in adherence with the trusts requirements
• Liaise with schools on overspends/underspends/latest estimates of spending to update forecast
• Continually review all financial / banking and operational policies and systems
• Review banking approval limits and structures
• Provide the Finance Director with financial information and assistance to support the decision-making process
• Ensure that the ESFA chart of accounts are being implemented in all schools
• Keep budget planning systems updated and reflecting current scenarios in schools

Person Specification:

• Working towards or currently hold an Accountancy Qualification (CCAB) or AAT level 4 qualified
• A good understanding of legislation in relation to school finance
• Experience working in the Education sector in a Finance capacity
• Currently hold, or willingness to have an enhanced DBS check
• Experience in school finance working with IMP/FMS/ budget planning tools is highly desirable

Annual salary: £39,262-£50,537

Working hours: Full-Time 52 weeks, 37 hours per week

Location: Slough, Onsite 5 days per week
